CCRUM Group B Mock Test Series 2027: Free 100-Mark CBT Practice for Staff Nurse, MLT, ARO, RA & Admin Posts
Why I Built This Mock Test Series
"I'm Shubham Kumar Sah, the founder of MockTestCenter.com.
When CCRUM released Detailed Vacancy Advertisement No. 01/2026 under the Ministry of Ayush, almost all coaching institutes combined Group A, Group B, and Group C into a single general article. Even worse, book sellers began promoting static practice sets that treated all Group B posts as if they had the same 30-mark general paper.
If you actually read the official CCRUM Group B syllabus, you will see why this approach doesn't work. Every Group B post has 70 marks from your core degree—whether that is B.Sc. Nursing, MLT, M.Sc. Chemistry, M.Sc. Botany, Statistics, B.Lib.Sc. or Government Accounting.
The real surprise is in the other 30 marks. For ARO, Research Assistant and Investigator posts, the 20-mark second section covers Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Drug Development and ASU herbal standardisation—not ordinary arithmetic. For Accounts Officer, the 10-mark IT section specifically includes Tally. And for Hindi Assistant, 30 out of the 100 marks come from a 800 to 1000 word descriptive translation paper.
That's why we created this 2027 CCRUM Group B Mock Test Series with separate 70+20+10 engines for Clinical (Staff Nurse and MLT), Scientific (ARO, Research Assistant and Investigator) and Administrative/Technical cadres (Accounts Officer, LIA, Proof Reader and Hindi Assistant).
Most of the series is free. A diagnostic test should not be behind a paywall.
Every test in this series must pass one test: does it match the exact 70+20+10 subject split as notified for your specific CCRUM Group B post? If not, it will not be published."
Important Corrections Regarding Misinformation from Competitors
- (1) Combining Group A, B, and C into one general pattern: Many general websites simply mix up the exam patterns. We must make it clear according to the official rules that Group A (Research Officer) has a 70-mark CBT (40+20+10) along with a 30-mark Interview. However, all 11 of the Group B posts have a 100-mark exam (lasting 100 minutes) and no interview at all.
- (2) The myth that all Group B posts have the same 30-mark general section: It is entirely untrue that each Group B post has an identical general syllabus. While both Staff Nurse and MLT have 20 marks on General Awareness, Aptitude & Reasoning plus 10 marks on IT, the scientific Group B posts (ARO in Pharmacology/Botany, Research Assistant in Chemistry/Botany, and Investigator in Statistics) completely replace that aptitude section with 20 marks on Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Drug Development, and ASU/Herbal Techniques. The Accounts Officer includes Tally in their 10-mark IT section, and the Library Information Assistant (LIA) has 20 marks on Computer Science, IT and Library Automation!
- (3) The mistake of confusing the Hindi Assistant's 30-mark translation paper with a Group C qualifying typing test: Some websites treat this as if it were a Group C typing test. In reality, the Hindi Assistant exam consists of a 70-mark Objective CBT and a 30-mark Descriptive Translation Exam (800 to 1,000 words) with the marks from this paper counting directly towards the final 100-mark merit list.
- (4) Mistaking the MTS "no negative marking" for Group B: Do not believe the false claim that CCRUM exams have no negative marking. Although the Group C MTS has no penalty for wrong answers, every CBT in the CCRUM Group B exams does have a strict -0.25 mark penalty for each incorrect answer.
Welcome to the best practice website for anyone preparing for posts under the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) in the Ministry of Ayush. On this page you can find the ccrum group b mock test series 2027, which is designed for candidates applying for the positions of Staff Nurse, Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT), Assistant Research Officer (ARO), Research Assistant (RA), Accounts Officer, Library Information Assistant (LIA), Investigator, Proof Reader, and Hindi Assistant. You will discover post-specific mock tests that are exactly in line with the official 100-minute, 70+20+10 CBT format, enabling you to master the exact syllabus required by Advt. No. 01/2026.
To secure a Group B position with CCRUM, you need a deep understanding of your particular professional field (70 marks) as well as great accuracy in the highly specialised 30-mark supplementary sections. Since the vacancies are very locally based (ranging from 1 to 12 posts per cadre), standard banking or SSC mock tests are totally unable to prepare you for the Research Methodology or the Ayush-specific standards that are tested here. Our ccrum group b mock test series 2027 system provides the exact 70+20+10 structure needed for your specific M.Sc., B.Sc., or Admin qualification.

A clear explanation of the four main misconceptions regarding the CCRUM Group B exam (2026–27)
| Misconception | Common coaching misconception | Fact according to the official CCRUM rules |
|---|---|---|
| Interview Requirement | It is believed that all CCRUM positions involve a 30-mark interview. | Group B posts have no interview at all (only Group A Research Officers have a 70-mark CBT and a 30-mark interview). |
| The "General" section | This section teaches standard SSC Maths and Reasoning to all candidates. | Candidates applying for scientific posts (ARO/RA) take 20 marks of Research Methodology and Biostatistics rather than general aptitude. |
| Hindi Assistant Exam | It is thought that a qualifying typing or shorthand test is required. | A 30-mark Descriptive Translation exam (consisting of 800 to 1,000 words) is required and this score is included in the final 100-mark merit. |
| Negative marking | It is claimed that there is no negative marking in CCRUM. | The "no penalty" rule only applies to Group C MTS. Group B posts do have a strict -0.25 mark deducted for each wrong answer. |
The CCRUM Group B exam pattern 2027: How our 100-minute CBT simulator mirrors all 11 posts
In order to offer an authentic experience, our platform divides the 11 Group B posts into four separate CBT track engines in accordance with the official Advt. 01/2026 syllabus.
Track A pattern — Staff Nurse and Medical Laboratory Technologist (Pay Levels 7 and 6)
- Section 1 (70 marks): For the Staff Nurse, the B.Sc. Nursing subjects as prescribed by INC; for the Medical Laboratory Technologist, the subjects from the B.Sc. MLT degree.
- Section 2 (20 marks): General Awareness, Aptitude and Reasoning.
- Section 3 (10 marks): IT and Computing.
Track B Pattern — ARO (Pharmacology/Botany), Research Assistant (Chemistry/Botany) & Investigator Statistics (Pay Level-7 & 6)
- Section 1 (70 marks): subjects at a level suitable for school pupils (M.Sc./M.V.Sc. degrees in Pharmacology, Phytochemistry, Organic/Analytical Chemistry, Plant Taxonomy, Economic Botany, or Statistics/Mathematics).
- Section 2 (20 marks): Research methodology, biostatistics, drug discovery and development, ASU agro-techniques, good statistical practices (GSP), and regulatory and ethical issues.
- Section 3 (10 marks): General knowledge, reasoning and IT.
Track C Pattern — Accounts Officer, LIA & Proof Reader (Pay Level-7 & 6)
- The Accounts Officer: 70M in Degree, GFR, Civil Accounts, DFPR, and Pension Rules, plus 20M in Aptitude/Reasoning/Awareness, and also 10M in Tally, IT & Computing.
- The Library Information Assistant (LIA): 70M in Bibliology (B.Lib. Science), 20M in Computer Science, IT and Library Automation, and 10M in General Knowledge and Reasoning.
- Proof Reader: 70M for degree-level subjects, 20M for Printing Technology and Book Publishing, and 10M for General Awareness, Reasoning and IT.
Track D Pattern — Hindi Assistant (Pay Level-6)
- Component 1 (Objective CBT — 70 Marks): BA level Hindi, Hindi-English terminology, general awareness and reasoning as well as IT.
- Component 2 (Descriptive Translation Exam — 30 Marks): This involves the translation from Hindi into English and from English into Hindi of separate passages, the total number of words being approximately 800 to 1,000. When the two components are put together, they form the final merit list of 100 marks.
Negative Marking (-0.25) & Safe-Guessing Math in the 100-Minute CCRUM Group B CBT
In the 100-minute CCRUM Group B CBT, with a reward of +1.00 for a correct answer and a penalty of -0.25 for a wrong one, it is essential to use strategic elimination. In exams with a small number of vacancies—ranging from 1 to 12 posts—the difference of a fraction of a mark can decide whether or not you are selected.
| Elimination Level | Expected Value (EV) Calculation | Strategic Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| No elimination (making random guesses among the 4 options) | (0.25 x 1.00) + (0.75 x -0.25) = +0.0625 marks | This approach is too risky for small-vacancy groups and should be avoided altogether; blind guesses must be strictly skipped. |
| One wrong option eliminated (leaving 3 options) | (0.333 x 1.00) + (0.667 x -0.25) = +0.167 marks | The expected value is modest; only attempt questions when you are moderately confident. |
| Two wrong options eliminated (leaving a 50:50 choice) | (0.50 x 1.00) + (0.50 x -0.25) = +0.375 marks | This is a highly profitable situation; always attempt questions that are down to a 50:50 choice. |
Example 1: A candidate applying for just 7 Staff Nurse positions blindly guesses 14 questions in the IT and General Aptitude (GA) sections. They answer 3 correctly and get 11 wrong. The calculation is (3 × 1.00) – (11 × 0.25) = 3.00 – 2.75 = +0.25 marks. By spending 14 questions they only gain a quarter of a mark and are therefore probably eliminated from the top 7 rankings.
Example 2: A Chemistry Research Assistant candidate applies a 50:50 elimination strategy to 8 difficult Research Methodology questions and ends up with 4 correct and 4 incorrect answers. The score is (4 × 1.00) – (4 × 0.25) = 4.00 – 1.00 = +3.00 net marks. This method of strategic guessing gives them a clear advantage.
100-Minute Time-Allocation Plan: Balancing 70 Professional Questions with 30 Applied/General Questions
You have exactly 100 minutes for 100 questions (60 seconds per question). Candidates with a Protected Disability (PwBD) status are given 130 minutes.
| Exam Section | Recommended Time Split (Total of 100 Minutes) | Pacing Strategy |
|---|---|---|
| Section 1: Core Qualification Subject (70 Qs) | First 62 minutes (~53 seconds per question) | This is the area covered in your M.Sc., B.Sc., or B.Lib.Sc. programme. If you know the fact then you know it; if not, then you don’t. Proceed quickly through questions on structural botany or pathology. |
| Section 2: Domain/Applied/Aptitude (20 Qs) | Next 22 minutes (1.1 minutes per question) | Spend extra time here. Questions involving biostatistics calculations, research study design scenarios, or quantitative aptitude puzzles need to be read carefully. |
| Section 3: IT, Computing & Tally (10 Qs) | Next 8 minutes (~48 seconds per question) | Quickly go through the direct questions on MS Office, Tally shortcuts, or basic hardware. |
| Final Review | Last 8 minutes | Carefully check the questions on which you used the 50:50 elimination method. Do not use the mouse at this stage to avoid making last-minute blind guesses. |
Note for Hindi Assistant: You must spend approximately 50 minutes on the 70 Objective MCQs in order to leave a full 50 minutes for the demanding 30-mark, 800–1,000 word Descriptive Translation exercise.

High-Yield Syllabus Topics by Post and 10 Step-by-Step Solved Sample Questions
Section 1 (70 Marks): Staff Nurse (INC), MLT, Phytochemistry/ASU Drug Standardisation (RA/ARO) and GFR/Civil Accounts (4 solved MCQs)
Q1. (Staff Nurse - INC Syllabus) What is the most appropriate initial nursing intervention for a patient who is experiencing a severe anaphylactic reaction?
A. Administering intravenous antihistamines
B. Raising the patient's lower limbs
C. Giving intramuscular epinephrine [Correct]
D. Starting oxygen therapy at a high flow rate using a nasal cannula
Correct option: C. Giving intramuscular epinephrine [Correct] — Reason: Epinephrine (adrenaline) is the first-choice treatment for anaphylaxis since it quickly reverses both bronchoconstriction and cardiovascular collapse.
Incorrect options: A, B, D — Reason: Although oxygen and antihistamines may provide some support, they do not counteract the life-threatening systemic reaction as quickly or effectively as epinephrine.
Hint: Consider the most important and immediately life-saving medication included in emergency protocols.
Question 2 (MLT Core): In the field of hematology, what is the main purpose of using Romanowsky stains (such as Leishman or Wright stain) on a peripheral blood smear?
A. In order to detect the presence of malarial parasites only
B. To enable the staining of the leukocyte granules and nuclei so that the cells can be identified [Correct]
C. To determine the exact concentration of hemoglobin
D. To avoid the blood sample clotting on the slide
Correct answer: B [Correct] — Reason: Romanowsky stains include eosin and derivatives of methylene blue, which stain the acidic and basic parts of cells respectively, enabling the visual identification of different white blood cells (such as neutrophils, eosinophils, etc.).
Incorrect option: A — Reason: Although it is used for parasites, its main general purpose is the differentiation of white blood cells.
Incorrect option: C — Reason: Hemoglobin is determined by means of the cyanmethemoglobin method, not by visual staining.
Incorrect option: D — Reason: It is anticoagulants (for example, EDTA) that prevent coagulation, not the stains.
Hint: These stains cause different types of white blood cells to show pink, blue, and purple colours.
Q3. (RA Chemistry - ASU Drug Standardisation) When standardising Unani and Ayurvedic formulations, what does the 'Ash Value' mainly show?
A. The quantity of volatile oils contained in the drug
B. The amount of alkaloids in the herbal mixture
C. There is present inorganic material, for example earthy or metallic impurities [Correct]
D. The moisture content in the crude drug
The right answer is C [Correct] because when determining the ash value, the herbal drug is incinerated in order to destroy its organic material and what remains are inorganic salts, silica, and earthy impurities, which thus act as a key measure of purity.
Option (Incorrect): A, B, and D — Reason: Volatile oils are determined by extraction, alkaloids by titration or chromatography, and moisture by loss on drying (LOD).
Hint: Consider the result when organic plant material has been completely burned (incinerated).
Question 4. (Accounts Officer - GFR 2017) What is the maximum monetary limit prescribed by the General Financial Rules (GFR) 2017 below which goods may be purchased directly without having to invite quotations or bids?
A. ₹25,000 [Correct]
B. ₹50,000
C. ₹1,00,000
D. ₹2,50,000
Correct answer: A. ₹25,000 [Correct] — because Rule 154 of the GFR 2017 permits the purchase of goods without calling for quotations or bids up to an amount of ₹25,000 in each case, on the condition that the competent authority certifies the reasonableness of the price.
Option (Incorrect): B, C, and D — Reason: Larger amounts need to be handled by Local Purchase Committees (up to ₹2.5 Lakhs) or through formal bidding procedures.
Note: This is the minimum threshold for direct and hassle-free government buying.
Section 2 (20 Marks): Research Methodology, Biostatistics, Library Automation (KOHA/MARC21) & General Reasoning (3 Solved MCQs)
Question 5 (ARO/RA/Investigator - Research Methodology): In a clinical trial involving a new Unani formulation, the participants are at random allocated to either the treatment group or the placebo group, and both the researchers and the participants remain unaware of who is receiving which treatment. What kind of study design is this?
A. Observational Cohort Study
B. A double-blind randomized controlled trial (RCT) [Correct]
C. Retrospective Case-Control Study
D. Cross-Sectional Survey
The right answer is B [Correct] since "randomly assign" shows that this is a randomised controlled trial and "neither... know" means that the study is double-blinded, which is the best method for eliminating bias in clinical research.
Option (Incorrect): A, C, and D — Reason: Since observational and retrospective studies do not include active intervention or blinding on the part of the researchers.
Tip: Search for the key terms 'random assignment' and 'neither knows'.
Question 6 (LIA - Library Automation): What does the MARC 21 field '245' stand for in the case of library cataloging?
A. Main entry under personal name
B. Publication, distribution, etc. (Imprint)
C. Title Statement [Correct]
D. Physical Description
C is the correct answer because in the Machine-Readable Cataloging (MARC 21) standards the 245 field is specifically designated for the Title and Statement of Responsibility section.
Option (Incorrect): A on the grounds that the personal name is in field 100.
Option (Incorrect): B — because the publication/imprint is listed in field 260/264.
Option (Incorrect): D — Reason: The physical description is in field 300.
Note: This is the basic tag used for entering a book's main name.
Question 7. (For Staff Nurse/MLT – Reasoning) If 'HOSPITAL' is coded as 'JQUQKVC', how is 'CLINIC' coded in that system?
A. ENKPKE [Correct]
B. EMKPKE
C. ENLPLE
D. DMINMD
Correct answer: A. ENKPKE [Correct] — because the pattern involves a forward shift of two positions for each letter. H with a +2 becomes J, O with a +2 becomes Q, S with a +2 becomes U, and so on. When you apply a +2 shift to CLINIC, C with a +2 becomes E, L with a +2 becomes N, I with a +2 becomes K, N with a +2 becomes P, I with a +2 becomes K, and C with a +2 becomes E.
Option (Incorrect): B, C, and D — Reason: These options involve the wrong alphabetic shifts.
Tip: Take each letter and move it forward by precisely two places in the alphabet.
Section 3 (10 Marks) & Hindi Assistant Track: IT/Computing, Tally ERP & Administrative Hindi-English Terminology (3 Solved MCQs)
Question 8. (For the Accounts Officer - Tally ERP) What shortcut key in Tally ERP 9 is used to access the 'Contra Voucher' when recording cash and bank transfers?
A. F4 [Correct]
B. F5
C. F6
D. F7
The right answer is A. F4 [Correct] because in Tally, F4 is the shortcut key assigned to open the Contra Voucher, which is specifically used for internal transfers between cash and bank accounts.
Option (Incorrect): B — Reason: F5 is the code for a Payment Voucher.
Option (Incorrect): C — Reason: F6 is the one used for a Receipt Voucher.
Option (Incorrect): D — Reason: F7 is assigned to the Journal Voucher.
Note: The first functional key is the one that comes after the keys for the basic company features.
Q9. (Hindi Assistant - Objective CBT) What is the correct administrative Hindi term for the word 'Probation'?
A. प्रतिनियुक्ति (Deputation)
B. परिवीक्षा (Pariviksha) [Correct]
C. पदोन्नति (Promotion)
D. निलंबन (Suspension)
Correct answer: B. Pariviksha [Correct] — Reason: In official government terminology, the initial trial period of service, known as 'Probation', is directly translated as 'परिवीक्षा'.
Option (Incorrect): A, C, and D — Reason: 'Deputation' is 'प्रतिनियुक्ति', 'Promotion' is 'पदोन्नति', and 'Suspension' is 'निलंबन'.
Hint: यह नौकरी लगने के तुरंत बाद का परीक्षण काल होता है।
Q10. (General IT - All Posts) Which of the following file extensions is mainly linked to a Microsoft Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook?
A. .xlsx
B. .xlsm [Correct]
C. .csv
D. .xltx
Option (Correct): B. .xlsm [Correct] — Reason: The 'm' in .xlsm stands for 'macro', and this file extension is needed when saving workbooks that contain VBA code or macros.
Option (Incorrect): A — Reason: .xlsx is the standard format for workbooks that do not include macros.
Option (Incorrect): C — Reason: .csv is a simple text format (Comma Separated Values).
Option (Incorrect): D — Reason: .xltx is a type of template file.
Hint: Look for the letter that means "Macro".
Minimum Qualifying Marks (30% for UR/OBC/EWS/Ex-SM and 25% for SC/ST/PwBD) versus Safe Target Scores in CCRUM Group B Mock Tests (Small-Cadre Reality Check)
Do not be misled by the statutory minimum qualifying marks (30% for UR/OBC/EWS/Ex-SM and 25% for SC/ST/PwBD). Scoring 30 marks out of 100 will not get you a job in CCRUM because the number of vacancies is very low (for example, Accounts Officer: 1 post, RA Botany: 3 posts, MLT: 12 posts), so the actual cutoff is set by the top few candidates.
| Target Group B Post | Advt. 01/2026 Benchmark Vacancies | Statutory Qualifying Minimum | Realistic Safe Target Mock Score (Out of 100) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Accounts Officer / ARO | 1 post | 30 Marks (UR) | 82–88+ Marks (the top 1% are required) |
| RA / Investigator | 2 to 3 posts | 30 Marks (UR) | 78–84+ Marks |
| Staff Nurse | 7 posts | 30 Marks (UR) | 75–82+ Marks |
| Medical Lab Technologist (MLT) | 12 posts | 30 Marks (UR) | 72–78+ Marks |
Note on Hindi Assistant: Aim for a combined total of 75 or more out of 100 (70 marks in the objective part and 30 marks in the descriptive part). Make sure that your 800 to 1000 word translation retains the exact administrative terminology.
How to Audit Your CCRUM Group B Mock Report Card and Post-Mock Error-Log Template
Auditing your mock test helps you identify areas for improvement. For instance, if you score 58 out of 70 in your M.Sc./B.Sc. subject area but only 8 out of 30 in the secondary sections, you are not meeting the requirements of the exam structure.
Post-Mock Error-Log Template
| Mock # | Target Post | Section (1/2/3) | Specific Topic Missed | Error Type | Action Taken | Retest Date |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example: Mock 2 | RA Chemistry | Section 1: 70M Core | Spectroscopy of ASU Drugs | Conceptual Gap | Review the chapters on UV-Vis and HPLC standardisation. | After 3 days |
| Example: Mock 3 | Accounts Officer | Section 1: 70M Core | GFR Rule 2017 | Memory Slip | Memorise the specific monetary limits for the procurement rules. | After 2 days |
| Example: Mock 4 | Investigator | Section 2: 20M Biostatistics | Chi-Square Test | Unfamiliar with Section 2 syllabus | Practice basic application scenarios for statistical tests. | After 5 days |
| Example: Mock 1 | MLT | Section 3: 10M IT | MS Excel Macros | Wild guess penalty | Stop guessing on questions relating to specific IT file extensions to avoid losing 0.25 marks. | Next Mock |
