Mock Test Series for the SSC Selection Post 2027 (Phase 15): Free tests at the Matric, 10+2 and Graduate levels (15-minute sectional timer)

Last Updated: 29 October 2026 | Reviewed by Ali Hassan, Senior Content Editor (Government Exams), MockTestCenter.com

Verification Disclaimer: This mock test series for 2027 (Phase 15) has been set in accordance with the most recent SSC Selection Post 200-mark CBT pattern, including the 15-minute sectional timers and the September 2026 (Phase 14) shift response sheets. Candidates must always check the post-category codes, the regional vacancies, and the essential qualifications against the official SSC notification PDF available on ssc.gov.in prior to applying.

Why I Built This Mock Test Series

"I'm Shubham Kumar Sah, founder of MockTestCenter.com.

The SSC Selection Post is one of the most misunderstood exams in India since it appears to be a single exam on paper but in fact consists of three separate exams—Matriculation (10th), Higher Secondary (10+2), and Graduation level—across hundreds of regional post codes.

When I looked at how other platforms create Selection Post test series, two major problems became clear. First, most of them put 10th, 12th and graduate candidates into one general mock folder. A 10th-pass candidate applying for a Matric Laboratory Attendant post ends up solving CGL-level Trigonometry, while a graduate candidate is given basic 10th-level questions that don’t match the actual paper they’ll face.

Second, SSC has locked the exam into four strict 15-minute sections. You get 15 minutes for 25 Maths questions and 15 minutes for 25 Reasoning questions, and as soon as the clock reaches zero, that section locks permanently. Yet many coaching blogs still describe the old 60-minute open timer—and one major website even published a wrong qualifying marks table stating that UR candidates need 35% (60 marks) and OBC candidates need 30% (70 marks) out of 200.

So we developed this 2027 series with three separate level tabs—Matriculation, 10+2, and Graduate—each running on the exact 15+15+15+15 minute auto-locking CBT interface, plus using the real September 2026 Phase 14 shift papers.

Most of the series is free. A diagnostic test should not be behind a paywall.

Each test in this series must pass one test: will it match the exact syllabus level of the post code you applied for and will it help you overcome the 15-minute sectional clock? If the answer is no, then it won’t be published."

AMBER CALLOUT BOX: Be cautious of false information spread by competitors.

  • (1) The myth regarding the 60-minute open timer: many simulated examination platforms still display the SSC Selection Post as having a flexible 60-minute open timer, enabling you to complete the General Awareness section in 5 minutes and then spend 30 minutes on Maths. However, the actual new rule for the SSC CBT (introduced in Phase XIV in 2026) is different. The 100-question, 200-mark CBT is now divided into four fixed 15-minute sections: Reasoning is given 15 minutes, General Awareness 15 minutes, Quantitative Aptitude 15 minutes, and English 15 minutes. When the 15 minutes for a section have ended, that section locks automatically and you are not allowed to switch to another section or carry any unused time over.
  • (2) Incorrect Tables of the Minimum Qualifying Marks: A major examination website published a wrong table stating that "UR = 35% (60 marks) and OBC/EWS = 30% (70 marks)". They made mistakes in both the official percentages and in simple mathematics. The actually verified official SSC minimum qualifying marks out of 200 are UR = 30% (60 Marks), OBC/EWS = 25% (50 Marks), and All Other Categories = 20% (40 Marks).
  • (3) False Descriptive Test Claims and Mixed Mock Traps: There is absolutely no Descriptive Tier-2 paper in the SSC Selection Post. Selection is based entirely on a single 200-mark CBT stage, plus a Post-Specific Qualifying Skill Test when required, followed by Document Scrutiny. Practicing with a single mixed mock pool is entirely ineffective. The syllabus depth for Maths and English differs greatly among the Matriculation (10th), Higher Secondary (10+2), and Graduation levels.

To obtain a central government position through the SSC Phase 15 examination, precise speed and complete knowledge of the syllabus are essential. Candidates have to overcome the strict 15-minute sectional time limit applicable to their particular qualification level. An effective SSC selection post mock test programme in 2027 should offer completely separate tracks for Matric, 10+2, and Graduate posts. Our platform provides exactly this kind of targeted experience for serious aspirants.

Clearing the 4 Major Confusions About the SSC Selection Post Exam Pattern (2026-27)

Confusion Point Common Myth on Coaching Sites Verified Administrative Reality
Exam Timer Format Shows a 60-minute open timer for the whole test. The CBT now has four 15-minute auto-locking sectional timers which cannot be avoided.
Syllabus Levels Treats all 200-mark papers as the same. The exam has three different syllabus levels (10th, 12th, and Graduate) that correspond to the post you have applied for.
Selection Process Claims a Descriptive Test follows the CBT. Selection consists of a single-stage CBT, a Post-Specific Skill Test if needed, and Document Scrutiny.
Current Cycle Status Lists 2026 dates as upcoming events. The Phase 14 exam took place in September 2026. The next cycle is Phase 15 (2027).

How Our Multi-Level SSC Selection Post Mock Engine Works (100 Questions, 200 Marks, Four 15-Minute Locks)

Why the 15-Minute Auto-Locking Sectional Timer Changes the Way You Approach Quant and Reasoning

Old methods advised students to rush through GK and spend a lot of time on Maths. The SSC has completely overturned that approach. Our engine sets a 15-minute limit for General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English. You must answer 25 math questions within their individual 15-minute time block.

How Syllabus Depth Varies Across the Mocks in Tab 1 (Matric 10th), Tab 2 (10+2 HS) and Tab 3 (Graduate)

Subject Area Tab 1: Matriculation (10th) Tab 2: Higher Secondary (10+2) Tab 3: Graduation and Above
Quantitative Aptitude Basic Arithmetic (BODMAS, Interest, Profit & Loss) Adds Advanced Maths (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry) Complex multi-step CGL Tier-I level calculations.
English Language Direct Vocabulary, Basic Grammar 12th-level Cloze Test, Voice, Narration Difficult Para-Jumbles, Deep Comprehension passages.
Reasoning Simple visual patterns, basic coding Moderate syllogism, blood relations Tricky seating arrangements, logical puzzles.

What Happens if You Apply for All Three Levels?

A graduate candidate might apply for an MTS post (10th), an LDC post (12th), and a Research Assistant post (Graduate). This candidate will have to take three separate CBT exams on different shifts. However, if they apply for five different Graduate level post codes, they only need to sit for one single Graduate level CBT. Our platform allows you to schedule the mocks for different levels accordingly.

Negative Marking (-0.50 out of 2.00) and the Use of Strategic Guessing in Selection Post Mocks

Each incorrect answer results in a deduction of 0.50 marks. Since each question is worth 2.00 marks, the penalty is exactly one quarter. Strategic guessing can greatly change your expected score.

Elimination Level in Mock Tests Expected Value (EV) Calculation Recommended Strategy for Mock Tests
No Elimination (blind guess among all 4 options) EV = (0.25 x 2.00) + (0.75 x -0.50) = -0.125 marks per question Mathematically negative. Do not blindly guess.
One Wrong Option Eliminated (3 options left) EV = (0.333 x 2.00) + (0.667 x -0.50) = +0.33 marks per question A favourable expected value. Attempt the question if you can eliminate one clear wrong option.
Two Wrong Options Eliminated (50:50 Choice) EV = (0.50 x 2.00) + (0.50 x -0.50) = +0.75 marks per question A highly profitable option. Always attempt every doubt that is a 50:50 choice.

Worked Student Example 1: A candidate finishes General Awareness in 8 minutes. They look at the locked screen for 7 minutes and get bored. They blindly guess on 8 questions they don't know. Those 8 wrong guesses take away 4.00 full marks, ruining their chance of getting a post with a high cutoff.

Worked Student Example 2: A candidate applies 50:50 elimination to 10 English questions. They get 6 correct and 4 wrong. The calculation is (6 x 2.00) - (4 x 0.50) = 12.00 - 2.00 = +10.00 net marks. Smart guessing wins the game.

Level-Wise Topic Weightage in Our 2027 Mock Series (Calibrated to Sept 2026 Phase 14 Shifts) & 10 Solved Sample Questions

Part C, Quantitative Aptitude (3 Solved MCQs)

Q1. (Matric Level, Arithmetic) एक दुकानदार किसी वस्तु पर 20% की छूट देता है, और फिर भी 25% का लाभ कमाता है। यदि वस्तु का क्रय मूल्य ₹400 है, तो अंकित मूल्य ज्ञात कीजिए।
A shopkeeper gives a discount of 20% on an item and yet manages to make a profit of 25%. If the cost price of the article is ₹400, what is its marked price?
A. ₹550
B. ₹600
C. ₹625 [Correct]
D. ₹650

Option (Correct): C. ₹625 [Correct] -> Reason: Since the profit is 25%, the selling price (SP) is 125% of the cost price and therefore equals 1.25 × 400 = 500. The discount is 20%, which means that the selling price is 80% of the marked price (MP). Hence, 80% of MP is 500. MP = (500 × 100) / 80 = ₹625.
Option (Incorrect): A. ₹550 -> Reason: Due to incorrect mapping of the percentages.
Option (Incorrect): B. ₹600 -> Reason: Assumes a simple addition without carrying out the correct discount ratio calculation.
Option (Incorrect): D. ₹650 -> Reason: Made a mistake in the final division.
Hint: Always remember that SP = CP × (100 + Profit%)/100 = MP × (100 - Discount%)/100.

Q2. (10+2 Level - Advance Maths) If $x + \frac{1}{x} = 5$, then what is the value of $x^3 + \frac{1}{x^3}$?
A. 110 [Correct]
B. 115
C. 120
D. 125

The correct option is A. 110 [Correct] because the standard algebraic identity says that when $x + \frac{1}{x} = k$, then $x^3 + \frac{1}{x^3} = k^3 - 3k$. In this case, $k = 5$, so $5^3 - 3(5) = 125 - 15 = 110$.
Option B. 115 is incorrect because of an arithmetic error when subtracting.
Option C. 120 is incorrect because of an erroneous subtraction value.
Option D. 125 is incorrect because it simply calculates $k^3$ and fails to subtract $3k$.
Hint: In algebra use the direct shortcut $k^3 - 3k$.

Q3. (Graduate Level - Geometry) In a right-angled triangle, the length of the hypotenuse is 13 cm and one of the base sides is 5 cm. What will be the area of the circumcircle (circumcircle) of this triangle? ($\pi = 3.14$)
A. 132.66 sq cm [Correct]
B. 120.50 sq cm
C. 140.25 sq cm
D. 150.00 sq cm

The correct option is A. 132.66 sq cm [Correct] because in a right-angled triangle the circumcentre is exactly at the midpoint of the hypotenuse. Thus, the circumradius R is equal to the hypotenuse divided by 2, which is 13 divided by 2 = 6.5 cm. The area is equal to $\pi R^2 = 3.14 \times (6.5)^2 = 3.14 \times 42.25 = 132.665$ sq cm.
The options B, C and D are incorrect because they do not realise that the hypotenuse serves as the diameter of the circumcircle.
Hint: In a right-angled triangle the hypotenuse is the diameter of the circumcircle.

Part A — General Intelligence & Reasoning (3 Solved MCQs)

Q4. (Number Series) Find the next term in the following series: 7, 15, 31, 63, 127, ?
A. 254
B. 255 [Correct]
C. 256
D. 257

Option (Correct): B. 255 [Correct] — Reason: The rule is to multiply the previous number by 2 and then add 1. (7 × 2 + 1 = 15; 15 × 2 + 1 = 31; 63 × 2 + 1 = 127). The next term is therefore 127 × 2 + 1 = 255.
Option (Incorrect): A. 254 — Reason: It omits the +1 step.
Option (Incorrect): C. 256 — Reason: The arithmetic logic is wrong.
Option (Incorrect): D. 257 — Reason: It adds too much after multiplying.
Hint: Each number is becoming double and then one is added ($\times 2 + 1$).

Q5. (Coding-Decoding) If in a certain coded language 'ROSE' is written as 'TQUG', then how will 'BLUE' be written?
A. DMWG
B. CNVF
C. DNWG [Correct]
D. DNVF

The correct option is C. DNWG [Correct] because each letter is shifted forward by two positions: R(+2)=T, O(+2)=Q, S(+2)=U, E(+2)=G. When this rule is applied to BLUE, we get B(+2)=D, L(+2)=N, U(+2)=W, E(+2)=G, resulting in DNWG.
The incorrect options are A, B, and D because they show incorrect letter shifts.
Hint: In the English alphabet each letter is advancing by two places (+2).

Q6. (Syllogism) Statements: All cats are dogs. Some dogs are rats. Conclusions: I. Some rats are cats. II. Some dogs are cats.
A. Only conclusion I follows
B. Only conclusion II follows [Correct]
C. Both conclusions follow
D. None of the conclusions follows

Option (Correct): B. Only conclusion II follows [Correct] -> Reason: If you draw a Venn diagram, all Cats will be inside Dogs. Rats overlap with Dogs but do not necessarily touch Cats. Therefore Conclusion I is uncertain. Since all Cats are Dogs, it is definitely true that some Dogs are Cats (Conclusion II).
Option (Incorrect): A, C, D -> Reason: This fails the basic logic of subset inclusion.
Hint: Draw a Venn diagram and remember that if two circles do not touch each other, a conclusion about them cannot be certain.

Part D — English Language (2 Solved MCQs)

Q7. (Error Spotting) Identify the segment that contains a grammatical error: "Neither the manager nor the employees was aware of the new policy."
A. Neither the manager
B. nor the employees
C. was aware of [Correct]
D. the new policy

Option (Correct): C. was aware of [Correct] -> Reason: When two subjects are joined by "neither... nor", the verb must agree with the subject that is closest to it. Since "employees" is plural, the verb should be "were aware", not "was aware".
Option (Incorrect): A, B, D -> Reason: These segments are grammatically correct.
Hint: In sentences with "neither... nor", the verb always agrees with the nearest subject.

Q8. (Active/Passive Voice) Choose the correct passive voice: "The mechanic is repairing the car."
A. The car is repaired by the mechanic.
B. The car was being repaired by the mechanic.
C. The car is being repaired by the mechanic. [Correct]
D. The car has been repaired by the mechanic.

Option (Correct): C. The car is being repaired by the mechanic. [Correct] -> Reason: The active sentence is in the Present Continuous tense. In the passive voice, the structure is is/are/am + being + V3. Therefore, "is being repaired" is correct.
Option (Incorrect): A. The car is repaired -> Reason: This is simple present passive.
Option (Incorrect): B. The car was being repaired -> Reason: This is past continuous passive.
Option (Incorrect): D. The car has been repaired -> Reason: This is present perfect passive.
Hint: When changing Present Continuous into passive, the word 'being' must always be used.

Part B — General Awareness (2 Solved MCQs)

Q9. (Static GK) Which article of the Indian Constitution provides for a 'Uniform Civil Code'?
A. Article 40
B. Article 44 [Correct]
C. Article 48
D. Article 50

Option (Correct): B. Article 44 [Correct] — Reason: Article 44, under the Directive Principles of State Policy, directs the State to secure a Uniform Civil Code for citizens throughout India.
Option (Incorrect): A. Article 40 — Reason: It concerns the organization of village panchayats.
Option (Incorrect): C. Article 48 — Reason: It relates to agriculture and animal husbandry.
Option (Incorrect): D. Article 50 — Reason: It relates to the separation of judiciary from executive.
Hint: This article is found in part IV of the State Policy Directive Principles.

Q10. (Science) What is the largest gland in the human body?
A. यकृत (Liver) [Correct]
B. अग्न्याशय (Pancreas)
C. थायराइड (Thyroid)
D. पीयूष ग्रंथि (Pituitary)

The correct option is A. यकृत (Liver) [Correct] because the liver is the largest solid internal organ and the largest gland in the human body, being essential for metabolism and detoxification.
Option B. Pancreas is incorrect because it is the second largest gland.
Option C. Thyroid is incorrect since it is the largest endocrine gland but not the largest overall.
Option D. Pituitary is incorrect because it is a very small master gland situated at the base of the brain.
Hint: This gland produces bile.

To analyse your Phase 14 (9 October 2026) Response Sheet, Normalization Impact & Error-Log Template

Look at the actual figures. Work out your raw score by using the formula Correct x 2.00 minus Wrong x 0.50, out of a total of 200. Compare this score with the official qualifying threshold and with your particular Post-Category Code vacancy ratio.

It should be noted that the SSC modifies raw scores according to multi-shift normalization, so the difficulty of the shift is important.

Multi-Level Mock Error-Log Template

Five Score-Killing Mistakes That Aspirants Make in SSC Selection Post Mock Tests

1. Ignoring the Sectional Clock: Doing practice tests using the old 60-minute open timer mocks. This leaves you completely unprepared when the real 15-minute auto-locks cut you off in the middle of a calculation.
2. Practicing the Wrong Level: Tackling CGL-level geometry when applying for a 10th-level MTS post code. You end up spending time learning concepts that won’t appear in the specific paper you’re taking.
3. Over-Guessing in General Awareness: Finishing the GA section in 8 minutes and then spending the remaining 7 locked minutes making random guesses. This causes you to lose the marks you’ve earned in mathematics.
4. Applying for Just One Post Code: Limiting your chances. The SSC allows you to apply for several post codes within a region using the same CBT score.
5. Skipping Post-Mock Analysis: Never looking at the error log. As a result, you keep making the same silly mistakes in basic arithmetic or grammar on the day of the exam.
