UP PET Mock Test 2027: Free UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test Series in Hindi & English (15-Subject Official Pattern)
Verification Disclaimer: Candidates must verify all eligibility criteria, age relaxation, cutoffs and the 15 subject syllabus against the official UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test notification PDF on the UPSSSC website (upsssc.gov.in) prior to applying.
Why I Built This Mock Test Series
I'm Shubham Kumar Sah, Founder of MockTestCenter.com. Over 35 lakh candidates register for the UPSSSC Prelims eligibility test. The vast majority of them see it as a simple qualifying paper where 50 or 55 marks is more than enough. That's the error that sees thousands of students completely eliminated from the best Group-C Mains exams for the entire recruitment cycle.
A 55+ normalised score would be sufficient to get you through the 7994 post UP Lekhpal Mains. For the other posts which have fewer vacancies (Junior Assistant, VDO, Cane Supervisor, Lower Subordinate etc) the 15 times shortlisting rule kicks in and you'll need a far higher percentile. Your PET scorecard is valid for 3 years but a low normalised score just means you're going to be sitting on the sidelines until you improve it in the next PET cycle.
If you look at the official 100 mark PET blueprint very carefully the secret to getting 78+ is literally right there in the blueprint. 50 of the 100 marks are from just 5 of the 15 sections: 2 Graphs (10 marks each), 2 Tables (10 marks each), 2 Hindi Unseen Passages (10 marks each), Current Affairs (10 marks) and General Awareness (10 marks). The other 50 marks are from the 10 x 5 mark NCERT and Aptitude units.
The whole series is based on the 50+50 structure. There are separate tabs for the full length 15 subject mocks, the October and November 2026 official shift papers, a dedicated 25 mark Graph, Table and Arithmetic lab and printable OMR sheets. Most of the series is free. A diagnostic shouldn't be behind a paywall. Every test we publish has to pass one test in our minds: will it help the aspirant go into the exam hall with a clear idea of the 15 subject split, the time it will take to attempt the 20 marks of Graph and Table DI and the 0.25 negative marking which will in fact protect their percentile? If it won't then it doesn't get published.
URGENT CORRECTION / AMBER CALLOUT BOX
Direct Clarification for UP Aspirants:
- (1) NO fixed passing mark: To be absolutely clear, there is NO fixed passing mark in the UPSSSC PET. The idea that you need to score 33% or 40% to get selected into the Group-C Mains is a complete myth. Your scorecard will show your Absolute (Raw) Score, your Normalised Score and your Percentile Score. The 15x category shortlisting cutoff is set by each individual recruitment notification. In the case of UP Lekhpal Advt. No. 02-Exam/2025 the commission shortlisted 3,66,712 candidates at a normalised PET score of 55.12. The competitive posts of Junior Assistant, VDO and Amin have a much higher cutoff and will generally require a normalised score of 68 to 78+.
- (2) 3 Year Scorecard Validity: The old coaching websites are still circulating the false news that your UPSSSC PET scorecard expires after one year. The UPSSSC commission rules state that the scorecard is valid for exactly 3 years from the date of result declaration on upsssc.gov.in. You are free to re-appear in any subsequent cycle (e.g. 2027) to improve your normalised score and percentile.
- (3) The "50% weightage" secret: The single biggest reason why aspirants fail to cross the high percentile threshold is that they completely ignore the 50% weightage. Exactly 50% of the entire 100 mark paper (i.e. 50 marks) is in just 5 subjects: Graph Interpretation (10 marks), Table Interpretation (10 marks), Hindi Unseen Passage (10 marks), Current Affairs (10 marks) and General Awareness (10 marks).
Preparing for the UPSSSC requires a full understanding of the screening process, the high-yield subject areas and the discipline of offline OMR pen and paper testing. Your qualification for any of the Group-C Mains (Lekhpal, Junior Assistant, VDO/VPO, Cane Supervisor, AGTA, Lower Subordinate/Amin etc) begins with a high percentile in the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET). A good UP PET mock test 2027 course will follow the exact 15 subject official pattern and will also highlight your time management issues in the complex DI tables and the NCERT based General Studies modules. This platform provides a complete, cycle aware practice ecosystem for all UP Government job aspirants from the High School (Class 10th), Intermediate (Class 12th) and the graduate category.
Clearing the 4 Big Confusions About the UPSSSC PET Exam 2026-27
Misinformation about the state screening process spreads very quickly on internet coaching forums. The actual commission notifications will give you the correct picture of the test structure prior to your actual preparation phase.
| Confusion Point | Common Myth on Coaching Sites | Verified Administrative Reality |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed Passing Marks vs 15x Cutoffs | Assumes a fixed percentage (e.g. 40%) will get you selected in all Mains exams. | UPSSSC releases Raw, Normalised and Percentile scores. The 15x category shortlisting cutoff is set by each individual Mains recruitment notification (e.g. Lekhpal shortlisted 3.66 lakh at a normalised score of 55.12, whereas the lower vacancy posts of Junior Assistant, VDO and Amin will require a normalised score of 68 to 78+). |
| Scorecard Validity Period | Claims that the UPSSSC PET scorecard is only valid for 1 year after the result is declared. | PET scorecards are valid for 3 years from the date of result declaration on upsssc.gov.in and you are free to re-appear in the next cycle (e.g. 2027) to improve your score and percentile. |
| Syllabus & Mains Bleed | Dumps the Group-C Mains specific subjects (Computer/AI, separate UP GK etc) into the PET test. | PET is a common screening test which covers the 15 subjects as per the official syllabus. The Mains specific subjects are tested only in the Mains exams themselves. |
| Active Exam Timeline Context | Treats the recent shift exams as future events or uses the wrong test pattern. | The Advt. No. 16-Exam/2026 PET exams were conducted across 3 days and 6 shifts on 25th, 30th October and 1st November 2026. Our practice modules are designed to help you prepare for the 2027 improvement cycle. |
Official UPSSSC PET Overview, 3 Year Validity and Timeline
The state screening follows a very structured commission calendar. The table below outlines the historical, current and projected cycles.
| Recruitment Phase | Employment Notice / Cycle | Key Operational Dates / Status | Relevance for Aspirants |
|---|---|---|---|

Marking Scheme, Multi-Shift Normalisation and the 1/4 Negative Marking (-0.25) Math
- Correct Answer: $+1$ Mark awarded
- Incorrect Answer: $-0.25$ Mark (1/4th mark) deducted
- Unattempted Question: Zero marks (no penalty)
Multi-Shift Normalisation: As over 35 lakh candidates appear across multiple shifts, raw scores are adjusted via standard commission normalisation formulae to neutralise the effect of shift difficulty.
Negative-Marking Safe-Guess Strategy Table
With $+1$ for correct answers and $-0.25$ for wrong answers, a blind guess among 4 options has an expected value of $+0.0625$ per question ((1/4 $\times$ 1) - (3/4 $\times$ 0.25) = $+0.0625$). A strategic elimination of options improves the mathematical odds on OMR sheets:
| Elimination Level | Mathematical Odds | Expected Value per Guess | Strategic Recommendation on OMR |
|---|---|---|---|
| No Elimination (Blind Guess) | 1 in 4 chance of being correct | $+0.0625$ Marks | Pure blind guessing is mathematically neutral, but targeted elimination provides a clear advantage. |
| 1 Option Eliminated | 1 in 3 chance of being correct | $+0.167$ Marks | Favorable odds; attempt the question if you can rule out 1 incorrect option. |
| 2 Options Eliminated | 1 in 2 chance of being correct | $+0.375$ Marks | Excellent odds (50-50 chance); definitely bubble the answer on your OMR sheet. |
Worked Example 1: If you attempt 85 questions, get 72 correct and 13 wrong:
Raw Score = (72 $\times$ 1) - (13 $\times$ 0.25) = 72 - 3.25 = $\mathbf{68.75\text{ Marks}}$
Worked Example 2: If a candidate attempts all 100 questions, getting 60 correct and 40 wrong:
Raw Score = (60 $\times$ 1) - (40 $\times$ 0.25) = 60 - 10 = $\mathbf{50.00\text{ Marks}}$

Mastering Graph Interpretation (10M) & Table Analysis (10M) Without Calculation Traps
- Graph DI (10M): Bar charts, pie diagrams, line graphs and cumulative frequency plots. Focus on percentage growth, ratio comparisons and average distribution.
- Table DI (10M): Multi-variable data tables requiring interpolation of missing values, percentage share calculations and weighted averages across fiscal years.
Problem: The table below shows the export revenue (in crore ₹) of three IT firms (A, B and C) from 2023 to 2025. Find the percentage growth in the total export revenue of all three firms combined from 2023 to 2025.
2023: Firm A = 400, Firm B = 600, Firm C = 500
2025: Firm A = 600, Firm B = 900, Firm C = 750
Step-by-Step Solution:
- Calculate total export revenue in 2023: Total 2023 = 400 + 600 + 500 = 1500 crore ₹
- Calculate total export revenue in 2025: Total 2025 = 600 + 900 + 750 = 2250 crore ₹
- Calculate percentage growth: Absolute Increase = 2250 - 1500 = 750 crore ₹. Percentage Growth = (750 / 1500) × 100 = 50%.
Problem: 'Effort is the key to success.' In light of that statement what is the value of continuity in human life?

5 Common Mistakes UPSSSC PET Aspirants Make in Graph/Table DI and Offline OMR Bubbling
- 1. Ignore Data Interpretation practice (treat it as optional while you're spending all your time on the basic static GK and completely ignoring the huge 20 marks that are available in graphs and tables).
- 2. Failing to manage time across the 15 subjects (i.e. spending over 2 minutes on a difficult History/Science question and therefore not having time to attempt the complex calculation tables at the end of the paper).
- 3. Skip the offline OMR carbon copy simulations (just practice on screen, don't actually train your hand eye co ordination for the physical OMR bubble filling which is what leads to the shifting errors and the panic).
- 4. Ignoring the negative marking (i.e. making uncalculated random guesses on all the questions you're not sure about and thus penalising your raw score through the 0.25 mark penalty).
- 5. Treating it as just a 'qualifying' exam (i.e. aiming for a mere 50 so as to get through to the Group C Mains which are so competitive).
